With patience and teamwork, the season can be calm, meaningful, and full of happy memories ...no matter what the family dynamic looks like.
ʙᴇʟᴏᴡ ᴀʀᴇ sɪx ᴄᴏ ᴘᴀʀᴇɴᴛɪɴɢ ᴛɪᴘs ғᴏʀ ᴛʜɪs ʜᴏʟɪᴅᴀʏ sᴇᴀsᴏɴ:
1. Keep it child-focused.
Focus on what your child needs most ➡️ love, fun, and consistency. Holidays can be emotional, so putting your child first helps everyone enjoy the season.
2. Plan early and communicate.
Set schedules, travel plans, and family events ahead when you can! Clear communication reduces confusion and helps your child feel secure, knowing what to expect.
3. Share the joy, not tension.
Even if disagreements happen, TRY to keep them away from your child as much as possible. A calm, positive environment lets your child enjoy the season without stress or worry.
4. Coordinate gifts.
Agree on budgets and who’s buying what to avoid duplicates or competition.
5. Keep traditions in both homes.
Rituals give children stability and comfort. Celebrating similar traditions in both homes, like making holiday treats , watching Christmas movies with the fam, helps your child feel connected everywhere.
6. Include distant parents.
If a parent can’t be physically present, involve them virtually! Try video calls, or opening one gift “together” online keeps the bond strong.
